Books

On a completely different subject, a good friend gave me a copy of Evening in the Palace of Reason, and I love it. It is a nice change of pace. It elegantly blends history, some detective work, and good writing to flesh out the one night meeting of J.S. Bach and Fredrick the Great. You really get a feeling for this historical figures. I could almost hear the gravel under the wheels of the carriage. I am a fan of historical fiction, and this is one of my favorites. It is about the fall of the Roman empire from the perspective of one of the last border generals. I couldn't put it down. This book mixes two of my favorite fiction genres: historical and mystery. This is a collection so it is nice for a short evenings read. I really enjoy rethinking memorable books, and this one has stories that keep coming back to the front of my mind.

Already read those? I generally suggest reading popular math or physics books.
